UK-based Professional Packaging Services (PPS) will supply folding gift boxes for Bacardi Oakheart and Bacardi Superior, as well as rigid boxes for Bacardi 8, Baron Otard, Aberfeldy and Dewars, as part of a contract.

PPS used its European partners to manufacture the folding cartons and its Asian partners to produce the rigid boxes.

The company will also develop the 2014 year-round ranges and Christmas promotional packs for Bacardi.

Bacardi Russia head of purchasing Olesya Belkina said the company has not just considered the shelf appeal but also looked at the practicality of the pack in-store.

"PPS was therefore able to create an ingenious solution to ensure the glass, which is provided within the Bacardi Oakheart pack, cannot be pilfered in-store," Belkina said.

PPS specializes in bespoke gift and presentation packaging and offers a range of packaging services across the drinks, confectionary, fragrance and gift markets.
