It is reported that Emco Ltd has secured an order worth INR 458 crores from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for execution of 800 KV HVDC Transmission Line Tower Package TW 05 from Champa to Kurukshetra.

This is part of the prestigiou 800 KV HVDC overhead transmission line network to be laid from Champa pooling station, Chhattisgarh to Kurukshetra, Haryana. It is designed to carry 6000 MW power from Power Generating Stations in Chhattisgarh to Northern Grid.

EMCO has bagged this project after surpassing a stringent qualification requirement from the client and against very stiff competition. The orders also involve supply of galvanized steel towers from the company's facility located at Asoj, Gujarat.
